US and World Hunger
When most people think of World Hunger, they automatically think of homeless people in developing countries. This is not always the case. A family can appear to be normal, but is struggling each and every day to put food on the table. Also, hunger does not only exist in developing countries, but in the United States of America as well. In every single county in the US, food insecurity exists. Overall, one in six Americans face hunger.
Whenever anyone thinks of Americans, they never think that World Hunger is such a problem even in this country. The country that has "The American Dream" is always thought of to be successful. After all, the news shows how many people are rich and famous in America, but what the news doesn't show is the starving people and those without the necessities of life.
Instead of people knowing about this problem, many people see hope and luxery when they look at America. The US wastes 40% of its food, so why would anyone think this country has vast amounts of riches, if it can waste so much. In truth, it cannot. Many Americans try to appear normal, even if they struggle with hunger.
